Whether you’re enjoying a staycation, have out of town visitors, or need a night on the town, The Lytle Park Hotel should be #1 on your list.
With so much more to offer than chic hotel rooms, you’ll find handcrafted cocktails and made-from-scratch meals. The vibe is upscale, sophisticated and classy. This historic building was built in 1909 but a revitalization was brought to fruition, and they reopened their doors as the Lytle Park Hotel in 2020. Architect Jeff Viegl turned two historic buildings into one block of magnificence. Previously the Anna Louise Inn & Earls building, these spaces were now joined together by a vision Mr. Viegl had while studying the block from the top floor of the Phelps. He said, “Historic preservation is not to replicate but to compliment.” Mr. Viegl has such a passion for his work and preserving history, and you can see that throughout this beautifully rehabbed Autograph Collection Marriott Hotel.
But for me it’s not only the history, it’s also about the experience I have here each time. I like to start my evening off with a handcrafted libation at the lobby bar. This is not just any bar. Here, you are transported into a sanctuary that takes you to another place and time. The glass-dome roof extends for what seems like miles long and 15-foot trees meet you upon entering. This upscale, boutique hotel offers ample natural light on its first floor. Oftentimes you can find a pianist setting the mood for the evening here.
Next, you can enjoy an amazing Italian-inspired meal in Subito overlooking Lytle Park. Retractable doors open up right to the park and heated floors allow for use all year round. After I’ve finished indulging in dinner, I head up to Vista at Lytle Park. You must try their famous beignets and many more handcrafted cocktails, wine or beer.
Whatever your fancy is, you’ll be sure to find it here. They truly have something for everyone here and their exceptional staff makes it “5 star” quality! If you want to show off your knowledge of where to take someone in the city for an amazing evening out, take them to The Lytle.
